Justin Bieber’s Studio Rule: No Selena Gomez

Justin Bieber has a hard and fast rule when he’s in the recording studio, where he has spent a lot of time lately, recording songs for his —

upcoming album Believe. Girlfriend Selena Gomez isn’t allowed in the studio.

No—he isn’t being mean to Selena in the least, and she is perfectly accepting of his recording studio rule.

Justin is ‘all business’ in the studio, but being a professional singer and actor, too, Selena understands what the business is all about. The two follow each other around the world to lend their support on film sets and concert stages, but Selena Gomez is respectful of Justin’s rule about her not showing up at the recording studio.

Isn’t it impressive that this young couple has the maturity to understand and respect one another’s careers? It’s definitely part of why their relationship has lasted this long.

Justin Bieber Protege Carly Rae Jepsen Piques Our Curiosity

Carly Rae Jepsen is 26…… I find that kind of creepy considering she is supposed to be Justin’s Protege even though he’s 18…

Carly Rae Jepsen has suddenly found herself in the big leagues. Justin Bieber recently signed the YouTube pop starlet to his Schoolboy Records label, much like his mentor, Usher, helped catapult him into superstardom when the R&B icon took Bieber under his wing.

It all started when Bieber tweeted, “Call me maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen is possibly the catchiest song I’ve ever heard,” creating an immediate runaway hit of the track off Jepsen’s EP Curiosity. And now, a music video spoof of the song, featuring heavy pop hitters like Selena Gomez, Ashley Tisdale and, of course, Bieber, has likely made “Call Me Maybe” the song of the season.

“I have no idea why Justin Bieber picked me out of everyone he could have picked, but I’m so glad he did,” Jepsen told MTV News recently.

So, who is the girl who wants you to call her, maybe? We already know the 26-year-old Canadian singer has fans in high places, and her track is in the top 10 on the iTunes singles chart, alongside the likes of Adele and Katy Perry. But there is much about this up-and-coming pop singer that you might not know, and we would like to acquaint you with some lesser-known facts about Carly Rae Jepsen.

1. She is an “Idol” alum.
In 2007, Jepsen placed third in the Canadian version of the popular “Idol” competition, touring across the country for the “Canadian Idol” Top 3 Concert Tour. During her first audition, Jepsen impressed the judges so much, singing original material, that one judge proclaimed his wish for hernot to move forward in the show so he could sign her to a record deal right there and then.

2. She might collaborate with Justin Bieber.
The Bieb is certainly “paying it forward.” This past Christmas, Usher recorded a song with his protégé on “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire),” and now Bieber has reportedly collaborated on a track with his protégé, Jepsen. “I think a collaboration with Justin Bieber isn’t out of the question considering we’ve already gotten together and worked on a little something,” Jepsen told MTV News. “But for when that will come out, your guess is as good as mine, but hopefully soon. I like the song.”

3. She takes inspiration from life and her friends.
Most art imitates life, and it is no different for Jepsen. But she also takes inspiration from the lives of those around her. “I have a fascination with words, so if a girlfriend starts talking and says a phrase that resonates with me, I’ll put it down on a napkin and get inspired from that,” Jepsen says of her creative process.

4. She loves shoes.
Jepsen loves her stilettos. “I have an obsession with high heels mostly because I’m 5′ 2″ and a girl needs all the help she can get!” she quipped. She will likely have a ball this spring/summer fashion season as the height of heels grows, hopefully in conjunction with her rising stature.

Jepsen has been making the media rounds under the tutelage of Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, who recently told Rolling Stone, “He’s [Justin Bieber] never jumped out and promoted an artist like this.”

Jepsen is scheduled to make an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on March 22, and it seems the sky’s the limit for this folksy addition to the pop world, especially with Justin Bieber on her side.

Beliebers Waiting Impatiently For ‘Boyfriend’

Beliebers everywhere have been waiting patiently – or more like impatiently – for some new music from Justin Bieber.

It was just last month that he spilled the news on The Ellen Show about his next single Boyfriend, off his forthcoming studio album Believe, which will be released on March 26th. And while we still have to wait 12 more days to have his angel-like voice make us swoon once again, the song has already been generating some major buzz on the web!

From radio jocks to the single’s producer Mike Posner, Boyfriend has been receiving nothing but rave reviews from the few lucky ears that have gotten a taste of what’s to come. Radio host Mick Lee at Z104.3 in Baltimore wrote on the station’s website, “All I’m saying … is wow … so much different than his previous music. Produced by Mike Posner … the best way to describe it is a mix of Justin Timberlake Sexy Back … N Sync Girlfriend — AND get this … he raps … best comparison is it sounds like Wait by the Ying Yang Twins …” Sounds like pure perfection if you ask me!

Posner spoke about Bieber’s new work during an interview last week and said, “I have Bieber’s new single. I wrote and produced that with him. And wait ‘til you hear the beat; you’re going to flip. You’re going to want to play this song. Yes, it’s super hip-hop.”

11 More DAYS!!!
